Children's Coltalin is a medication that helps relieve symptoms from colds, the flu, or hay fever, such as sore throat, minor aches, headaches, runny nose, and sneezing. It works by reducing fever and promoting drainage in the nasal passages. For children aged 6 to under 12 years, it is taken as chewable tablets, with a starting dose of 4 tablets every 4 hours while symptoms last, but not exceeding 5 doses (20 tablets) in a day. A key warning is that it contains acetaminophen, which can cause severe liver damage if your child takes more than the recommended amount or combines it with other products containing acetaminophen. If your child is under 6 years old, you should consult a doctor before giving them this medication.
