The medication is taken as a liquid, with the starting dose depending on the child's weight or age, ranging from 5 mL for children aged 2 to 3 years up to 15 mL for children aged 11 years, and it should not be given more than four times a day, with doses repeated every 6 to 8 hours if needed.
