View full FDA label ↗Cvs is a medication that helps temporarily relieve symptoms like a runny nose, sneezing, and itchy, watery eyes caused by hay fever, as well as itching in the nose or throat. It works by blocking certain signals in the body that cause these allergy symptoms. You take it in liquid form, with adults and children aged 12 and over starting with 20 milliliters every 4 hours, and children aged 6 to under 12 taking 10 milliliters every 4 hours, but you should not take more than 6 doses in a day. It's important not to use this medication to sedate a child, and you should also be cautious if you're taking sedatives or tranquilizers, as they can increase drowsiness when combined with it. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, it's best to consult a health professional before using this medication.
