It works by calming the stomach and reducing discomfort. For adults and children aged 12 and over, the starting dose is 2 softgels every half hour or 4 softgels every hour as needed for diarrhea, but you should not take more than 16 softgels in a day. One important warning is that children and teenagers recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms should not use this product due to the risk of Reye's syndrome. If you're taking blood-thinning medications, like those for anticoagulation, be sure to consult your doctor before using this medication.

Dosage

Do not exceed 16 softgels in 24 hours.
Use until diarrhea stops but no more than 2 days.
Children under 12 years: ask a doctor.
