It works by helping to balance certain chemicals in the brain that affect mood and pain. You take it as a delayed-release capsule once a day, starting at a dose of 30 mg to 60 mg, with a maximum dose of 120 mg per day. It's important to know that you should not take this medication if you are currently using certain antidepressants called MAOIs, as this can lead to serious side effects. Additionally, if you have liver disease or severe kidney problems, you should avoid using duloxetine.
