Equate Nicotine is a medication that helps reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings when you quit smoking. It works by providing a small dose of nicotine to ease the transition away from smoking. You start by using a lozenge on your quit day, taking either a 2 mg lozenge if you smoke your first cigarette more than 30 minutes after waking up, or a 4 mg lozenge if you smoke within 30 minutes. For the first six weeks, you should aim to use at least 9 lozenges a day, but don’t use more than 20 lozenges in a day. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it's important to talk to your healthcare provider before using this medication, as the risks to your child are not fully known.
