Esomeprazole is a medication used to treat frequent heartburn that happens two or more days a week. It works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach makes, helping to relieve heartburn symptoms over time. Adults aged 18 and older should take one tablet by swallowing it whole with a glass of water before eating in the morning, once a day for 14 days; do not take more than one tablet a day and do not use it for more than 14 days unless your doctor tells you to. It's important to know that you should not use this medication if you are allergic to esomeprazole, as it can cause serious skin reactions. If you are taking certain medications, like clopidogrel, check with your doctor, as they may interact with esomeprazole.
