Fluconazole is a medication used to treat various fungal infections, including vaginal yeast infections, oral and esophageal candidiasis, and cryptococcal meningitis. It works by stopping the growth of fungi in the body. You can take it as a tablet, usually starting with a single dose of 150 mg for vaginal infections or 200 mg on the first day for other infections, with a maximum daily dose that can go up to 400 mg depending on the condition. It's important to be cautious if you have liver problems, as fluconazole can cause liver injury in some cases.
