It combines two ingredients that work together: one helps your body get rid of excess sugar through urine, while the other boosts insulin production when needed. You take it as a pill once a day, starting with a dose of 10 mg of empagliflozin and 5 mg of linagliptin, which can be increased to a maximum of 25 mg of empagliflozin and 5 mg of linagliptin if more control is needed. It's important to know that Glyxambi is not recommended for people with type 1 diabetes, as it may increase the risk of a serious condition called diabetic ketoacidosis. Additionally, if you're taking insulin or other medications that lower blood sugar, be cautious, as they may increase the risk of low blood sugar when used with Glyxambi.
