Jalyn is a medication that combines two drugs to help treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is when the prostate gland becomes enlarged and causes urinary problems in men. It works by blocking certain hormones that contribute to prostate growth and relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder neck to improve urine flow. You take it as one capsule daily, about 30 minutes after the same meal each day, starting with a dose of 0.5 mg of dutasteride and 0.4 mg of tamsulosin, and you should not exceed this dose. It's important to know that Jalyn should not be taken by women who are pregnant, as it can harm a developing fetus. Additionally, if you're taking strong medications that affect liver enzymes, like ketoconazole, you should be cautious, as they can increase the levels of Jalyn in your body.
