Macrodantin is a medication used to treat urinary tract infections caused by certain bacteria. It works by stopping the growth of these bacteria in the urine. You typically take it in capsule form, with a starting dose of 50 mg to 100 mg four times a day, and the maximum dose can be the same, depending on your condition. It's important to know that Macrodantin should not be used if you have serious kidney problems, as this can increase the risk of side effects. Additionally, it may not work well with quinolone antibiotics, so be sure to inform your doctor if you are taking any of those.
