Metronidazole Vaginal

Metronidazole vaginal gel is a medication used to treat bacterial vaginosis, a condition that causes an imbalance of bacteria in the vagina. It works by targeting and killing the harmful bacteria that cause this imbalance. You will use it by inserting one applicator full of the gel, which is about 5 grams, into the vagina either once or twice a day for 5 days, with the once-a-day dose recommended at bedtime. It's important to know that you should not use this medication if you have had an allergic reaction to metronidazole or similar ingredients. Additionally, avoid using it if you have taken disulfiram, a medication for alcohol dependence, in the last two weeks, as this can lead to serious reactions.
