Mucinex Children's Mighty Chews Cough Nighttime is a chewable medication that helps relieve cough caused by minor throat and bronchial irritation, especially when you have a cold, and it can also ease symptoms from allergies like a runny nose and sneezing. It works by soothing the throat and reducing the urge to cough, helping you get to sleep. For adults and children aged 12 and over, the starting dose is 2 chewable tablets every 4 hours, not exceeding 12 tablets in a day, while children aged 6 to under 12 should take 1 tablet every 4 hours, with a maximum of 6 tablets in a day. It's important not to use this medication to make a child sleepy, and you should avoid it if you are taking certain prescription drugs for depression called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
