View full FDA label ↗Nix is a medication used to treat head lice and help detangle hair. It works by killing the lice and their eggs when applied to the hair and scalp. For adults and children 2 months and older, you should apply it as a cream rinse, saturating the hair and scalp, and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing. If you still see live lice after a week, a second treatment can be done. It's important to avoid using it near the eyes and to keep it out of reach of children, and if you're allergic to ragweed, you should consult a doctor before using it.
