The medication is taken as a liquid, and the starting dose depends on the child's weight or age, ranging from 5 mL for children aged 2-3 years (24-35 lbs) to 15 mL for children aged 11 years (72-95 lbs), with a maximum of four doses in a day and doses can be repeated every 6-8 hours if needed. A key warning is that it may cause severe allergic reactions, especially in children who are allergic to aspirin, so it's important to stop use and seek medical help if any allergic symptoms occur.
