Spiriva Respimat is a medication used for the long-term treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma in patients aged 6 and older. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, helping to open them up and making it easier to breathe. You take it by inhaling two puffs once a day, with the starting dose for COPD being 2.5 mcg and for asthma being 1.25 mcg, and you should not exceed this daily amount. It's important to know that Spiriva Respimat is not meant for quick relief of sudden breathing problems. If you have kidney issues, you should be monitored closely while using this medication.

Uses

  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Dosage

2 inhalations of SPIRIVA RESPIMAT 2.5 mcg once daily for COPD. 2 inhalations of SPIRIVA RESPIMAT 1.25 mcg once daily for asthma.
No dosage adjustment for elderly or patients with liver or kidney issues.
If not used for more than 3 days, actuate inhaler once before use.
If not used for more than 21 days, prime inhaler before use.
