It works by reducing swelling in your nasal passages, making it easier to breathe. You take it as a tablet, swallowing it whole, with a starting dose of 1 tablet every 12 hours, but you should not take more than 2 tablets in a 24-hour period. It's important not to use this medication if you have had an allergic reaction to it or any of its ingredients. Additionally, if you are taking certain prescription drugs for depression or emotional conditions, known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), you should avoid this medication.
