Brexpiprazole is a medication used to help treat major depressive disorder when combined with antidepressants, schizophrenia in adults and teens aged 13 and older, and agitation related to Alzheimer's disease. It works by affecting certain brain chemicals to help improve mood and reduce symptoms of these conditions. You take it as a pill once a day, starting with a dose of 0.5 mg to 1 mg, which can be increased to a maximum of 3 mg for depression or agitation, and up to 4 mg for schizophrenia. It's important to know that this medication is not suitable for anyone who has had a severe allergic reaction to it or its ingredients.
