Diclofenac is a topical medication used to temporarily relieve arthritis pain in areas like the hands, wrists, elbows, feet, ankles, and knees. It works by reducing inflammation and pain in the affected areas. You should apply it to clean, dry skin four times a day, using 2 grams for upper body areas and 4 grams for lower body areas, but not on more than two areas at the same time. It's important to know that diclofenac can cause serious stomach bleeding, especially if you are taking other pain relievers like aspirin or ibuprofen. If you have had an allergic reaction to pain relievers in the past, you should not use this medication.
