Diclofenac Sodium Topical 1 is a gel used for the temporary relief of arthritis pain in areas like the hands, wrists, elbows, feet, ankles, and knees. It works by reducing inflammation and pain in those areas. You should apply it to clean, dry skin four times a day, using 2 grams for upper body areas and 4 grams for lower body areas, but not on more than two areas at the same time. A key warning is that it can cause severe allergic reactions, especially in people who are allergic to aspirin, so it's important to stop using it and seek medical help if you experience symptoms like hives or difficulty breathing. Additionally, be cautious if you are taking other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as using them together can increase the risk of serious side effects.
