It works by blocking certain signals in the body that cause these allergy symptoms. You can take it every 4 to 6 hours, starting with a dose of 5 to 10 milliliters for children aged 6 to 11, but do not exceed 6 doses in a 24-hour period. It's important not to use this medication with any other products that contain diphenhydramine, as this can lead to serious side effects.
