View full FDA label ↗Invokamet XR is a medication used to help control blood sugar levels in adults and children aged 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes. It combines two active ingredients that work together: one helps your body get rid of extra sugar through urine, while the other helps improve how your body uses insulin and lowers sugar production in the liver. You typically take it as two tablets once a day with your morning meal, starting at a dose of 100 mg of canagliflozin and 1,000 mg of metformin, with a maximum of 300 mg of canagliflozin and 2,000 mg of metformin per day. It's important to know that this medication should not be used if you have severe kidney problems. Additionally, if you take insulin or certain other diabetes medications, you may be at risk for low blood sugar, so monitoring is essential.
