Rabeprazole is a medication used to treat conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), duodenal ulcers, and certain stomach acid-related issues. It works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces, helping to relieve symptoms like heartburn and allowing ulcers to heal. You typically take it as a delayed-release tablet, starting with a dose of 20 mg once daily, which can be adjusted based on your needs, but the maximum dose can go up to 60 mg daily for certain conditions. It's important to know that if you have a history of allergic reactions to rabeprazole or similar medications, you should avoid taking it. Additionally, rabeprazole can interact with rilpivirine-containing products, so it's essential to inform your doctor if you are taking any medications in that category.
